The Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF) is committed to eliminating poor vision and its lifelong consequences, and to providing underprivileged people the opportunity to live a better life through better sight.
EVF Local History
EVF Singapore was incorporated in April 2014 with Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister of Environment as our Guest Of Honour. We have worked with many charity organizations including the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped, SINDA, Pertapis, Bridgeable and People’s Association amongst many others. We have supported the Ministry of Health’s “Spectacle Fund” since its inauguration. This fund helps to ensure that all underprivileged schoolchildren will enjoy complimentary spectacles yearly.
Following the success of Singapore, we have also launched many charity events in our neighbouring countries such as Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar and The Philippines. The foundation aims to improve vision needs for rural and under-served communities. We continue to look for like-minded global, regional and/or local Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to partner us in our charity vision initiatives which will bring greater social and economic impact to these communities.
