ABOUT THE PROJECT
Lions Club, an international voluntary organisation, and Essilor Vision Foundation (EVF) co-organised a vision care initiative to screen more than 5,000 young students in Batam. Eyeglasses will be given to students who need them.
Batam, Indonesia
Dates: March 2018 – July 2018
Duration: 4 months
People to screen: 5,000
Eyeglasses to give: TBC
Volunteers: >15
EVF and its partners recognise that 80% of learning occurs through the eyes, hence without proper eye care, a student will not be able to fully maximise his/her potential at school. The programme aims to expand its services to more than 5,000 students in Batam till end of this year.
